I'm doing the Parasite Cleanse now using the products from Dr. Clark's website. Has anyone experienced swollen glands while on this cleanse? I also feel kind of "yukky". Kind of "dawncy". Is this normal? So far, I haven't seen any worms come out, but if a lot of the parasites are microscopic, then maybe I won't see them.

Please read what is reported on this site about parasites, many pages devoted to the subject.

When the parasites die, they do not necessarily just leave the body. Many of them die in the tissues where they had been living. The organs themselves may be perforated and the dead parasites may become infected. This is why the the protocol described on this site is so important. One needs to use immune boosters and herbs and teas to encourage removal of debris and regeneration of the organs that were weakened by parasitization.

Thanks, I've read everything on the site (although I didn't see anything pertaining to swollen glands, or feeling "sick" while doing the parasite cleanse) and wanted to be specific about exactly what products would be good for immune boosting. Are the Blood Cleanse and Para Cleanse also recommended for this? I want to make sure I'm getting the right products because it could get very expensive and I don't want to get something that's not necessary. Thanks for your help and recommendations....

David,

It's really hard to know what anyone needs. Obviously, a proper approach would involve tests that confirm the existence of a problem requiring treatment. Since we don't offer those tests, merely some possible solutions, the diagnostics are really outside of our hands.

This said, when one really does have parasites, the problems can be very severe or subtle. When someone has traveled in a foreign country and suffered from Montezuma's revenge, the probability of parasites is very high. However, when one occasionally has symptoms and then they disappear, it's hard to know what is going on.

This said, one must ask what happens during a parasite cleanse. Obviously, only intestinal parasites are going to be flushed out. Some people recommend fennel tea because it makes the parasites too drowsy to hang onto the linings of the intestines to be kept from being swept out.

When, however, the parasite dies in the blood, what I have seen in dark field microscopy is that bacteria swarms around the dead critter. What is left is like a skeleton (on a microscopic level) and when the feasting is over, the white blood cells have to tackle the bacteria.

Just as fruit flies seem to appear out of nowhere, bacteria also seems to multiply when the word is out that there are cheap meals. My own belief is therefore that the levels of bacterial infection will increase with the death of parasites in the blood and presumably also other parts of the body.

The reason for all the adjunctive herbs is that the tissues that have been ravaged need to be repaired. If your veterinarian ever showed you a dog's heart in a jar of formaldehyde, you probably gagged over the sight of the worms. Now, try to imagine that instead of dying from parasitization, you killed the worms and they died in the holes they has made in the heart. You would definitely want to take a heart tonic to repair the heart as well as a major immune booster to prevent damage to the heart from infection.

Thus while neglect on the part of professionals of a widespread problem has turned parasite treatment into a lay procedure, a lot of information is needed to succeed in this effort . . . and I cannot overemphasize how important it is to include animals, children, and grown ups when one person in the family is infected.

Good luck.
