What is you feelings on the Master Cleanse, also called the Lemonade Diet? It consists of fresh lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Do you recommend it?

I think it is a nice fast for some people, especially people of a water type constitution. Air types need to be careful of fasting because their metabolisms are quite fast.

You can find a lot of information about the Master Cleanse at www.TheMasterCleanse.com. There is also a huge bulletin board with hundreds of posts.

I am going to begin the MC this coming week. I have only reviewed Peter's book "Lose weight, have more energy & be happier in 10 days" and am wondering about the whole brushing your teeth thing. I am not clear. Will I screw up my cleanse by using regular toothpaste such as "crest" to brush my teeth? If so, what can I use. A bar of soap is just not an option...

I just tried it for 10 days - It's the best thing
I have ever done, and I have fasted many times
before, but no other fast compares to it. I lost 10 lbs in the ten days, then 2 more while coming off the fast.

On the lemon diet, does anyone know if you can stay on birth control or do you have to go off of it?

What about children on this diet. I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old that are both consipated all the time. I was wondering if anyone that young could go on this diet for a very short period? Say 1-3 days. I love my boys and would do nothing to harm them. Please let me know.

The recipe as given above is slightly wrong.
It's 8 oz of spring or purified water;
2 tablespoons of lemon juice;
2 tablespoons of maple syrup; and
1/10 teaspoon of cayene pepper.

What's not mentioned is to drink 6 - 12 of these drinks per day, drink a salt water flush each morning, and to drink a cup of laxative tea each night.

Full details, and answers to the other questions above, are available for free on my website http://www.TheMasterCleanse.com, where you can join the currently 254 people on the Master Cleanse this month. (We're shooting for 400!)

when coming off this diet are you supposed to go straight back to your regular diet or gradually increase the food intake to your regular diet?
