Ingrid

You mention that this soup can be used for days, weeks, etc. Is this to be the only food taken, or is additional food advised/allowed? Just curious. I have my first pot cooking now. I'm definitely adrenal compromised. I especially relate to the heightened sense of smell symptom.

Where can I purchase the Recovery adrenal/kidney formula?

Thanks for any info.

Lisa

Lisa,

I spoke to the company again today. Dragon Eggs has a serious production problem and everything is out of stock. There is no word at all as to when this might change. It's been months now.

The soup is something you can consume as often as you like. It does not need to become a mono diet. However, when I have used it as such, I have lost weight due to strengthening of the ability of the kidneys to resolve issues of fluid retention. I also felt stronger in general.

As instructed in the recipe, I drank some of the juice (what little I could strain off as I didn't use enough water), and it made me somewhat nauseous. Nothing major, and it didn't last long.

I think I will continue to make the soup but add some wild rice as well. I don't like soup all that much, so maybe the rice will thicken it up a bit. I can't live on just soup all day because I don't have time at work to "snack" when I'm hungry and instead have to rely on more substantial meals.

By the way, what is the purpose of the cumin seeds? I'm curious as I would like to eliminate them.

Thanks for the great recipe -- I'm not much of a cook (and have never tried Indian food) but even I can make this one.

The cumin seeds are to relieve gas. It's interesting because only yesterday, I was going over the homework of one of my students and she wrote more than a page on cumin, quite a rapturous hymn to a well respected seed:

"Cumin is rich in vitamins and minerals and is an antidote to weakness and fatigue. It can act as a blood cleanser, a carminative, aiding in the absorption of nutrients to the system."

Because this soup actually builds energy, you don't really need any other food, but you can, of course, improvise and add potatoes and/or rice to the recipe.

It's really important when cooking beans not to add anything salty until the beans are already tender. Salt inhibits full cooking of the beans. Once they are cooked, it's not a problem.

Enjoy!

ingrid, i am new to this and need to know where i can purchase your book "adrenal exhaustion", i need the soup recipe, and i need to know where to get supplements to take for adrenal fatigue. i imagine that all the info is in your book, but i cannot find the book, only the tapes on the websites. if there is any info that you can give me to answer my questions i would greatly appreciate it. i have been ill for so many years and lately it has been getting much worse. i am so tired all of the time and stay in bed a lot. i always have dark circles under my eyes, like i haven't had enough sleep. i have asthma, i have been on tons of antibiotics for chronic sinus infections. i have virtually no immune system and my life has been full of stress and trauma, up until the past couple of years. i took diet pills a lot to lose weight and for energy, and i am sure that my adrenal glands are totally shot. i put myself on a candida diet which i have been on for five months. i still have no energy but have not had a sinus infection since i started the diet, and that is a record for me for not being really sick for a month or so at a time. for some reason i have an ulcer right now and i feel like i'm trying to get sick a lot of the time. i have never been able to find a doctor to help me so i keep trying to figure it all out for myself. so far no supplements have helped me. i really wanted to get your book for some help with what i can do. thank you, stephanie

Stephanie,

There is no book, only the tapes. I have been writing the book for some time, but keep getting interrupted and have not finished. The tapes do have a lot of information.

You sound miserable and could really benefit by a strategy that puts you on the healing path.

Why can't the soup be refrigerated and re-heated?
